Boiling Springs High School (South Carolina)
Boiling Springs High School (BSHS) is a high school located in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. It is part of Spartanburg School District 2, and is one of two high schools serving Spartanburg County School District 2. Its mascot is the English Bulldog.The current principal is Dr. Chuck Gordon.
==Extra-Curricular Activities==
Recently, Boiling Springs High School has won the 4A State Baseball Championship for South Carolina (2012), the 4A State Cheerleading Championships (2013), and the 4A State Golf Championship in 2014. The wrestling team has also made a come back after the program was discontinued in the early 90's. Former 3x Judo National Champion and former World Sambo Champion, Leo Sawyer is credited with setting the foundation for the program at the high school through elementary levels.
Boiling Springs High School also boasts the largest band in South Carolina. They have won several region championships, including consistent finalist at Bands Of America Regional and SuperRegional Championships. In 2012 the band took first place in class 4A at the Bands of America Jacksonville State, Alabama Regional taking captions for best Music, Visual, and General Effect. They are currently the reigning 5A Upperstate Champions (2007,2009,2010,2011,2012). The band has also placed in the top three at state championships for the past five years in a row, including four straight silver medalist (second place, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012). They were under the direction of Bryan Bone until the fall of 2013, when Mr. Rob Smith became its director.
